Security Technician
Midwest Alarm, dba BCI Integrated Solutions, is seeking a Security Technician to install and service commercial security, access control, CCTV, and surveillance systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and configure/program access control, security, intrusion alarm, closed circuit television, camera systems, fire and other various security related systems.
- Evaluates, diagnoses, troubleshoots, re-configures, and tests equipment and devices associated and repairs as necessary.
- Performs upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability.
- Assists on installation projects as needed.
- Performs service tasks required to fulfill service requirements.
- Read and understand drawings and prints to install the correct equipment in the correct locations.
- Provides technical support with programming and hardware support to other technicians, management and sales force.
- Be a TEAM player
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Preferred to have knowledge of fire and electrical codes to ensure safe and proper installation of alarm systems and devices.
- Must be able to read technical documents, drawings and prints.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and electrical/electronic calculations.
- 1-2 years working in electronics, basic electric circuit troubleshooting (working knowledge of Ohms law).
- Electronics and troubleshooting skills required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to climb ladders and carry a backpack of 50+ pounds unassisted.
- Computer skills are necessary
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience:
- 2-year degree resulting in an Associate’s or Technical degree or Equivalent in electronics or related field

- FASA BASA
- Software House Certification
- Avigilon Certification
- Axis Certification
- Lenel Certification
