The Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA) is partnering with Emerge Career to fund free CDL training for individuals with a criminal history. Earn an average of $75K/year as a professional truck driver. Emerge Career covers everything: trucking school tuition, permit costs, and all expenses on your path to a CDL.
How It Works:
- Apply Online: Complete Emerge Career's 10-minute application. If you're eligible, you can start the online course the same day.
- Online CDL Permit Course: A self-paced, 25-hour course you can finish in as little as one week.
- CDL Permit Exam: The program prepares you to pass and covers all associated costs.
- Enrollment Interview: Talk with the Emerge Career team about your availability, career goals, and fit.
- Truck Driving School: You're placed at a partner trucking school near you with full tuition covered.
- Job Placement: Once you earn your CDL, Emerge Career helps you land a job. The program has a 90%+ placement rate.
Eligibility:
This is a second-chance program for individuals who've faced anxiety, depression, or mental health, or relied on alcohol or substances to get through.
- Must live in Sacramento County
- Must have experienced arrest, probation, parole, or incarceration
- Active driver's license required
- Maximum of one DUI (none within the last 3 years)
- Active driver's license required
- No major traffic violations in the past 3 years
- No pending criminal cases
- Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis!
