Overview of the Insurance Producer Compliance Specialist
The Insurance Producer Compliance Specialist supports the Agency Compliance team by assisting with surplus lines filings, agency onboarding, and producer licensing activities across all group companies. This role also involves researching insurance laws and regulations, responding to inquiries, and providing guidance related to licensing and compliance requirements.

Duties of the Insurance Producer Compliance Specialist
- Assist with surplus lines filings for company-owned agencies
- Support onboarding and ongoing maintenance of appointed agencies
- Coordinate producer licensing and appointment activities across all group companies
- Research and interpret insurance laws and regulations related to surplus lines, licensing, and appointments
- Provide recommendations to management based on regulatory findings
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding compliance and licensing requirements
Qualifications for the Insurance Producer Compliance Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 1+ year of relevant work experience
- Foundational knowledge of compliance, licensing, or insurance operations preferred
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling routine issues; escalates complex matters as needed
Requirements for the Insurance Producer Compliance Specialist
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and database systems
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data handling and recordkeeping
- Solid understanding of basic business math and filing systems
- Excellent proofreading, grammar, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret insurance directives, bulletins, and regulatory requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Compensation and Schedule for the Insurance Producer Compliance Assistant
- $21 - $22/hr.
- M - F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Possible hybrid schedule after training
