Responsibilities
- Operate vessels in accordance with USCG regulations, safety protocols, and company policies, ensuring smooth and secure voyages.
- Manage crew members effectively, providing leadership, training, and supervision to uphold operational standards.
- Conduct pre-departure inspections, including rigging checks and mechanical assessments to guarantee vessel readiness.
- Oversee vessel maintenance activities, coordinating repairs and troubleshooting mechanical issues promptly.
- Navigate vessels using advanced navigation systems, charts, and radar to ensure precise routing and safe passage.
- Maintain detailed logs of voyages, safety drills, inspections, and incident reports for compliance and record-keeping purposes.
- Collaborate with emergency responders or port authorities during incidents or adverse conditions to ensure swift resolution.
Requirements
- Valid US Coast Guard license as a Captain with appropriate endorsements for vessel size and type.
- Proven experience in maritime management, including crew supervision and vessel operations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to marine engines, rigging systems, and vessel maintenance.
- Military background preferred for leadership skills and disciplined approach to operations.
- Excellent navigation skills utilizing modern electronic systems along with traditional methods.
- Ability to perform rigging tasks safely and efficiently under various weather conditions.
