Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Alignment Technician to join our fast-paced service team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise wheel alignments and related diagnostic procedures to ensure vehicles meet manufacturer specifications and deliver optimal handling and safety. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of vehicle performance, customer satisfaction, and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of vehicles, including those equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and to develop your skills in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive wheel alignments on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring precision using specialized alignment equipment and schematics.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to suspension, steering, and drivetrain components to identify root causes affecting alignment or vehicle handling.
- Utilize automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to interpret system data, especially for complex systems like ADAS and electronic stability controls.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks including tire rotations, balancing, brake inspections, and general mechanical repairs as needed.
- Work with power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment to repair or replace damaged parts, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to accurately diagnose electrical systems, powertrain issues, or mechanical faults.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or equivalent automotive service background with a strong focus on alignment work.
- Solid mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including suspension, steering, electrical systems, powertrain, and diesel engines.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and understanding of schematics for complex electronic systems such as ADAS.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive maintenance machinery.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and ability to read wiring diagrams accurately.
- Experience working with auto body repair techniques is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
