Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Recommend menu items, including wines and spirits, to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales through upselling techniques
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and assisting in food handling procedures
- Support food preparation and kitchen staff when necessary to ensure smooth service flow
- Manage guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally to foster a welcoming atmosphere
Experience
- Prior food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred, especially in fine dining environments
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively during busy service periods
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service enhances guest interactions
- Experience with OpenTable reservations system is a plus for managing bookings efficiently
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and relationship building
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and handling cash confidently
- Food safety certification or knowledge of sanitation practices is beneficial for maintaining health standards
