Station 32 has a mix of many challenging patients including those who are anxious/depressed and are at risk for self-harm or suicide as well those who have thought disorders and struggle with managing their lives in the community. Some patients have co-occurring medical issues that broaden the psychiatric associate experience.
This role is approved for 40 hours, every two weeks on the dayshift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM),working 8-hour shifts and every other weekend with a variable schedule.
The Psychiatric Associate is responsible for the delivery of patient care and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse so that goals and objectives of treatment are achieved on each unit as assigned.
Responsibilities

Conducts safety checks of patients through visual observation and documentation.

Conducts room, belonging and unit searches.

Responds and participates in de-escalation of patient including physical intervention as trained.

Actively participates in milieu management with treatment team collaboration.

Performs basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan:

Demonstrates knowledge of signs/symptoms of diagnoses and interventions.

Conducts educational programming with individual and/or patient groups according to appropriate treatment plan.

Responds to emergency situations as trained per policy.

Participates in the treatment team’s mission, goals and plans:

Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.

Exhibits verbal communication in a timely, thorough, and professional manner.

Possesses knowledge of current issues, changes and updates in Behavioral Services policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
-
2 years Experience in mental health, healthcare, or school setting (NA, NST, PCA, behavioral tech, etc.) AND Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable individuals or high acuity behavioral needs.

Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
-
B.S./B.A. in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Health Care, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field.

Experience in inpatient, ED, behavioral health, EMT/paramedic, emergency medical services or other related higher acuity settings such as a school, residential treatment facility, group home, etc.
Qualifications:
$26.06- $35.56 Hourly
