General Job Description
The Golf Shop Assistant will display an energetic, positive, and friendly attitude daily. This position is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop by administering the day-to-day Golf Shop duties, such as opening and closing procedures, answering calls and making golf reservations. This position is also responsible for assisting in overseeing the Outside Services day-to-day procedures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Have an energetic and positive attitude in person, and have a pleasant and courteous voice on the phone and in person to display excellent customer service.
2. Knowledge of Point-of-Sale transactions and maintain the day-to-day golf reservation systems by checking-in guests and receiving payments.
3. Accurately reconcile cash register sales with daily deposits at shift change points.
4. Ensure the collection and recording receipt of appropriate payments (cash, credit card transactions), in accordance with company procedures.
5. Keep a working knowledge of all upcoming tournaments and programs to provide accurate information to guests.
6. Keep a working knowledge of USGA Handicapping Services provided.
7. Keep a working knowledge of GolfNow Central procedures. (No Show, Marketing, Club and Course Updates)
8. Understanding of tournament operations.
9. Responsible in increasing and the sales of Memberships by informing guests of all Membership Options.
10. Assist in monthly Inventory and understanding of product in stock in the Golf Shop. Assure Golf Shop items are presentable to guests.
11. Assist in Course Management with working with Marshalls to ensure pace of play standards.
12. Always maintain and keep Golf Shop and Workstation clean.
13. Assist in overseeing Outside Service duties are up to standards and expectations.
14. Assure Outside Services Checklist is met daily.
15. Understand and assess Cart Staging Area is staged and carts are prepped to expectations.
16. Ensure Outside Services have the Driving Range picked in a timely manner and monitor the cleanliness of the Driving Range and availability of clean range balls.
17. Perform outside service duties at times and oversee and help Outside Services when closing daily. Includes (Cleaning and washing of carts, picking range, picking up baskets, pins on putting green and short game area, bring up towels to wash and taking out trash, etc.)
18. Perform other duties as assigned or required by upper management.
Minor Duties and Responsibilities
1. Cross-train in Food & Beverage and understand pricing and handling of transactions.
2. Obtain and maintain both TABC and Food Handlers Certificates
Qualifications for the Job
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
Minimum:
1 Year Experience in Customer Service
Other:
Golf Knowledge (Rules, Etiquette, etc.)
Key Competencies
Computer Knowledge
Understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Simple Math
Attention to Detail
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for up to 8 hrs.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Be able to work in different weather conditions

Salary: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
