- Operate excavators safely and efficiently to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and site instructions to execute excavation activities accurately.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure optimal functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and others on site.
- Assist with site setup, including positioning equipment and preparing the work area for excavation tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety checks throughout each shift.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators in construction or similar environments.
- Valid certification or license for operating heavy machinery (such as a crane or excavator operator certification).
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and site instructions clearly.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members.
- Physical stamina and agility to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures for heavy equipment is a plus.
