MODERN WORSHIP - Church Musician/Religious Leader
JOB SUMMARY: Leads the praise and worship team in a modern setting to create an inspiring, relevant, and welcoming worship experience for all participants. Major components of the job include collaborating with the Senior Pastor and Staff to develop, plan, and execute the worship plan and coordinating the technical, production, and support requirement for worship.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES – Church Musician/Religious Leader
- Commit to being spiritually prepared to minister to the church through Christian music and word.
- Recruit, train, coach, and care for a team of church vocalists and musicians who are comfortable on stage and expressive in their praise and worship before God.
- Inspire and encourage the congregation to participate actively in the service.
- Work in collaboration with the Communications Director in developing and creating the vocal, instrumental, and audio/visual aesthetics needed to engage the congregation in joyful, spirit filled worship.
- Evaluate and select music that is God honoring, relevant to the message, and within the expertise of the team.
- Maintain a working knowledge of audio, visual, and lighting software and equipment.
- Maintain a working knowledge of best practices in Christian worship preparation and delivery.
- Commit to and conduct regular planning meetings and effective rehearsals.
- Provide the vocalists and musicians with necessary documentation and resources needed to complete their assigned tasks and optimize their gifts and talents.
- Continuously review the worship experience to ensure its relevance to the congregation and direction of the Church.
- Incorporate children, youth, and young adults into the music ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS - Church Musician/Religious Leader
- A minimum of three years of experience as a people manager, exhibiting skills in leadership, recruitment, staff development, communication and coaching, and conflict resolution.
- As a disciple of Jesus Christ, candidate is called to a music and teaching ministry.
- Candidate must have experience as a worship leader in a modern setting, with the ability to set the tone and flow of the service using God’s word, music, and enthusiastic connection with the congregation.
- Candidate must have a professional and dynamic demeanor, and ability to inspire their team and congregation.
- The candidate must be a gifted vocalist and musician, with technical skills in the performance of live music and use of associated equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – Church Musician/Religious Leader
- High school graduate or GED required.
- An Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis on music preferred.

YOUTH MINISTRY
JOB SUMMARY
To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry (in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and community outreach) while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. This comprehensive approach is based on the understanding of the primary task of youth ministry to:
· Love youth where they are.
· Encourage youth in developing their relationship with God.
· Provide them with opportunities for nurture and growth.
· Challenge them to respond to God’s call to serve in their communities and world.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Be an advocate for youth and educate the congregation about the hopes, concerns, and needs of youth in the local church and community.
2. Help plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach.
3. Support and guide the work of the Youth Council or equivalent body in an annual process of evaluating the vision and goals of the youth ministry and directing planning sessions.
4. Mentor youth in developing their leadership skills.
5. Be aware of resources for developing the youth ministry programming and participate in continuing education events and training opportunities.
6. Recruit and train volunteers who work with youth in all aspects of youth ministry and ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios.
7. Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources that relate to youth and youth ministries.
8. Coordinate Sunday school curriculum for youth (grades 6-12) and recruit teachers in partnership with other program staff.
9. Coordinate and teach Confirmation classes in partnership with the pastor(s) and provide leadership for confirmands, mentors, and parents beyond the classroom.
10. Develop relationships and connections to college age adults that nurture their Spiritual life.
11. Keep records of youth participation and manage the youth ministry budget.
12. Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using all available resources (email, website, bulletin, newsletter, bulletin board, etc.). Ensure communication with church staff and leadership, parents, and the congregation as a whole.
13. Make yourself available to youth in a variety of ways (i.e., lunch at school, attendance at extracurricular activities, visitation, times of crisis, etc.)
14. Work in concert with the gifts and talents of other staff members and maintain a teamwork mentality.
15. Ensure that the Safe Sanctuary Policy is observed in all youth ministry settings.
16. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor, or Staff Parish Relations Committee as deemed necessary for the support of the ministry of the Church.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not mandatory.
2. Must have vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a youth ministry within the parameters of the United Methodist Church.
3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication, conflict management, and computer skills.
4. Must possess a proven ability to work effectively with youth, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.
5. Be knowledgeable in Biblical foundations of Christianity and understanding of Methodist theology.
6. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, candidate is called to youth and teaching ministry.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
