American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a hospital in Alexandria, VA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of combined adult and pediatric ED experience and multiple certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS.

Hospital-based Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population across all zones (no separate pediatric area)

Common cases include STEMI, stroke, sprains, sutures, high-acuity presentations, and pediatric patients

Administers drips including routine vasopressors, insulin, and sedation
-
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, stretching to 5:1 during peak census

Primary shift is 7p–7a (12 hours); must also have flexibility to work 3p–3a

36 hours per week

Weekend requirement: 6 shifts in 6 weeks

13-week contract

Active VA or Compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS

TNCC preferred

Minimum 2 years of ED experience required

Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients required

Experience administering vasopressors, insulin drips, and sedation required

Navy blue scrubs required
