Responsibilities
- Duties:
- Manage and perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes to aid strategic decision-making.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules; ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Maintain proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, and other financial management tools to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues like accrual accounting, tax experience, securities law compliance, and governmental accounting standards.
- Mentor junior staff or interns by sharing best practices in bookkeeping, account analysis, and financial report writing to foster professional growth within the team.
