Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure all electrical work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards (National Fire Protection Association), and the NEC (National Electrical Code). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and industrial electrical infrastructure, while adhering to strict safety procedures. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring and system installations.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely in accordance with NFPA 70 compliance standards.
- Diagnose electrical system issues through comprehensive troubleshooting techniques to identify faults quickly and efficiently.
- Install and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low-voltage control systems essential for industrial automation processes.
- Ensure all work aligns with local electrical codes, NEC standards, and electrical safety procedures to uphold a safe working environment.
- Conduct renovation projects on existing electrical systems within construction sites or facilities, including remodeling or upgrades.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to complete electrical wiring tasks accurately.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, system modifications, and safety checks.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of electrical components within broader project scopes.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician in industrial or commercial environments is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams confidently.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems—including high-voltage wiring—and familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Strong understanding of local electrical codes (including NEC) to ensure all installations meet regulatory requirements.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects involving electrical system upgrades or new installations.
- Ability to work safely following all electrical safety procedures while managing multiple projects efficiently.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and electrical blueprint reading is highly desirable.
