Responsibilities
Assist in reviewing construction drawings and blueprints to interpret technical details and material requirements.
Support the estimation team by preparing detailed cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
Participate in material cost estimating, including pricing and sourcing materials based on blueprint specifications.
Contribute to managing project budgets by tracking costs, analyzing variances, and supporting cost control initiatives.
Utilize construction management software and Microsoft Office tools, especially spreadsheets, to organize data and generate reports.
Collaborate with project managers and clients through effective communication to clarify project scope and negotiate pricing terms.
Assist in reviewing construction site conditions and understanding site-specific challenges that impact estimates.
Help ensure accuracy in estimating construction projects by reviewing technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents thoroughly.
Requirements
Enrolled in or recent graduate of a program related to Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of construction industry practices including cost management, material estimating, and project budgeting.
Strong communication skills for client interaction, negotiation, and team collaboration.
Construction site experience or previous exposure to heavy civil or commercial projects is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
