Position Summary
Procurement Manager responsible for overseeing all procurement activities, including capital expenditures (CAPEX), project-related purchases, raw materials, consumables, maintenance spares, tooling, and operational supplies. This role ensures timely procurement, cost-effective sourcing, supplier management, budget control, and support of production and maintenance operations while maintaining inventory and tool room efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant purchasing experience required.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry required.
- Industrial workshop experience is preferred.
- Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, procurement planning, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of import/export procurement processes and customs clearance procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Purchasing Management
- Manage all CAPEX and project-related purchases, including sourcing, negotiations, order placement, follow-up, and delivery tracking.
- Monitor project procurement budgets, cash flow requirements, and vendor payment schedules.
- Source and procure raw materials, consumables, packing materials, tooling, spare parts, and stock items required for operations.
- Coordinate procurement activities for production, maintenance, quality, and other operational departments.
- Ensure timely procurement of maintenance spares and critical operational materials to minimize downtime.
Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.
- Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve the best commercial terms and cost savings.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve supply chain issues as needed.
- Perform supplier performance evaluations and maintain approved vendor lists.
Inventory & Tool Room Oversight
- Oversee tool room operations and inventory control for tooling, spares, and consumable materials.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate inventory is maintained to support production and maintenance requirements.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce excess stock and improve material availability.
Reporting & Coordination
- Report to the Project Manager regarding all CAPEX and project-related procurement activities.
- Report to the Head of Operations regarding raw material procurement and operational purchasing requirements.
- Prepare procurement reports, budget updates, cost analyses, and supplier performance metrics.
- Coordinate with finance, operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure procurement objectives are achieved.
