Full-Time Staff Accountant
Robin M. Yevak, CPA is a public accounting and business-support firm in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, proudly serving as a trusted first call for individuals, small businesses, and larger organizations that need responsive tax, accounting, payroll, and back-office support. We are a small but mighty team with a bright, lively office culture where hands-on learning, agility, pride in our work, and genuine client care are at the heart of what we do.
We are looking for a full-time Staff Accountant who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and can move comfortably between client service, accounting research, tax preparation support, payroll work, administrative follow-through, and day-to-day operational tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow in a supportive public accounting environment, learn by doing, and become a dependable resource for clients who count on us.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will support a broad mix of accounting, tax, payroll, client-service, and office operations. Because our team is intentionally small, everyone contributes in meaningful ways. Key responsibilities include:
- · Prepare, process, and organize individual and business tax return documents and client-facing materials, and related correspondence.
- · Assist clients with payroll services, including payroll review, quarterly payroll tax returns, annual payroll filings, and payroll journal entries from raw data.
- · Compile client financial data, reconcile general ledger activity, complete bank reconciliations in QuickBooks or Sage, and perform analytical review of accounts to support accurate reporting.
- · Prepare responses to federal, state, and local tax notices; track deadlines; and coordinate follow-up with team members and clients.
- · Maintain and support the online Website Client Portal, including uploads, downloads, document tracking, and client communications.
- · Support clients and client staff with accounting software questions, especially Sage and QuickBooks and related tools.
- · Research tax and accounting questions, help resolve client issues, and provide information to senior team members as needed.
- · Build strong, long-lasting client relationships through clear communication, follow-through, and exceptional service.
- · Pitch in across administrative, operational, and accounting priorities to keep the office moving smoothly during busy seasons and beyond.
Benefits for All Employees:
- Health insurance
- Vision insurance
- Dental insurance
- Retirement benefits

- Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications for the Accountant:
- · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or comparable accounting experience.
- · 1–3 years of accounting, tax, payroll, bookkeeping, or related business experience preferred.
- · Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Office, and professional tax or accounting software.
- · Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax requirements, payroll filings, and accounting workflows.
- · Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, especially when managing multiple deadlines.
- · Comfort working directly with clients, government agencies, and communicating in a friendly, professional, and helpful way.
- · Ability to move between administrative tasks, operational needs, client questions, and more complex accounting work.
- · A curious, hands-on learner who enjoys solving problems, asking good questions, and growing with the firm.
- · A positive, flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced, upbeat office environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- General ledger and bank account reconciliation
