POSITION SUMMARY
The CDL Driver — Short Load is responsible for delivering small-quantity concrete, grout, mortar, and other cementitious materials to job sites using a short load truck. This role requires precise batching and mixing at the point of delivery, minimizing material waste, and ensuring product quality meets project specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver small-quantity concrete, grout, mortar, and other cementitious materials to job sites using a short load mixer truck.
- Operate the volumetric mixer to batch and mix materials on-site to the correct specifications and slump requirements.
- Verify material quantities, mix designs, and delivery tickets before departing the yard and upon arrival at the job site.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including mixer drum, conveyor, water system, and discharge chute.
- Maintain the mixer truck in clean working condition, flushing drums, chutes, and water tanks after each pour.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, superintendents, and masons on delivery schedules, mix specifications, and pour sequences.
- Monitor material bin levels and communicate restocking needs to prevent yard shortages.
- Ensure all loads and operations comply with company, state, and federal weight regulations and permits.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
MUST HAVE — REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience required.
- Must have experience driving with manual transmission.
- Must know and conform to all DOT regulations.
- OSHA 10 card required.
- Pass the company’s Driver Approval Process required.
- Pass a mandatory employment drug test required.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
- Must have operational knowledge of smartphones and other mobile devices.
- Safely work in both hot and cold outside temperatures and on construction job sites.
- Must be able to read and write in English and/or Spanish at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete required documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Must be able to operate a volumetric or short load mixer truck.
- Must understand concrete, grout, and mortar mix designs and slump requirements.
NICE TO HAVE — PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience operating volumetric or short load concrete mixer trucks.
- Knowledge of concrete mix designs, admixtures, and curing requirements.
- Experience delivering to masonry or concrete construction projects.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
