Overview
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Trailer Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting refrigeration trailers and related heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive and industrial systems, and the ability to work with various tools and diagnostic equipment. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse machinery, including HVAC systems, diesel engines, and heavy-duty trailers, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on refrigeration trailers and related equipment
- Conduct inspections of HVAC systems, diesel engines, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery for repairs and assembly
- Replace or repair components such as shocks & struts, transmissions, tires, brakes, and wheel alignments
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding and fabrication techniques
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely during equipment repairs or installations
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment including excavators, forklifts, cranes, tractors, and other farm machinery as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, or heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, diesel engine repair, and electrical systems
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or tractor-trailers
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and service technician tools
- Knowledge of automotive repair including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and safety compliance
- Relevant certifications or training in HVAC systems or industrial equipment maintenance is preferred
