About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Sampling Trainer to support and train internal staff on proper water sampling procedures across a variety of environmental and healthcare-related contracts. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on field sampling experience who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping teams maintain high-quality sampling standards and regulatory compliance.
The trainer will travel to client and contract sites as needed to provide in-person instruction, demonstrations, field oversight, and procedural guidance for water sampling activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Train field personnel on proper water sampling techniques, procedures, documentation, and chain of custody requirements
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations and field-based instruction at customer and contract locations
- Provide guidance on sample collection, labeling, preservation, handling, storage, and shipment procedures
- Ensure sampling activities comply with applicable EPA, CDC, OSHA, ANSI/AAMI, VHA, and client-specific standards
- Assist in developing and improving internal field sampling procedures and training materials
- Evaluate staff competency and provide corrective coaching when needed
- Support quality assurance and consistency across multiple contracts and facilities
- Travel to various customer sites throughout the United States as required
Required Experience
Candidates should have direct field experience collecting water sampling for most or all of the following:
- Legionella sampling
- Dental waterline testing
- Sterile Processing Services (SPS) / critical water testing
- Dialysis water sampling
- Potable water testing
- Cooling tower water testing
- Bacteriological water testing
- Lead and copper sampling
- Disinfection byproduct testing
- Coliform and E. coli sampling
- Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) testing
- Environmental and healthcare facility water quality monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare, VA medical centers, military installations, or large institutional water systems
- Familiarity with EPA analytical methods, CDC ELITE requirements, ANSI/AAMI ST108 standards, and VHA directives
- Experience training or mentoring field personnel
- Strong understanding of chain of custody and documentation procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently

Pay: $27.64 - $33.28 per hour
