Description:
The Auto Body Prepper is responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces for painting by performing tasks such as sanding, priming, and masking, as well as for finishing, such as buffing and final quality checks. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently. (This is a temp-to-hire role.)
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 6:00am to 2:30pm (Must be flexible to work overtime and extra days; weekends included.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Sanding vehicle surfaces using sandpaper, grinders, or other tools to create a smooth surface for painting
- Buffing vehicles using a rotary buffer, pads, and polishing compounds to remove scratches, oxidation, and texture from a car's clear coat following wet sanding
- Quality Assurance - conduct final inspections to ensure structural integrity and accurate paint matching for all completed vehicles
- Collaborate with the body shop team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, high-volume work environment
- Ability to adapt to emergency work order changes
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2 years' minimal experience in auto body prep is required
- E-verify
- Background screening
- Non-slip work shoe
- Safety vest and glasses
- Pre-placement interviews with the management team
Pay: $20.00 per hour
