Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Field Service Engineer specializing in Turbomachinery Controls to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for complex control systems used in turbomachinery applications. Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot turbomachinery control systems on-site at customer facilities.
- Perform calibration and testing of sensors, vision inspection systems, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure system accuracy.
- Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Maintain and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and low/high voltage electrical components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on control panels, sensors, motors, and other mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Support customer service activities by providing technical guidance and training to clients’ personnel.
- Utilize AutoCAD for system modifications or schematic updates as needed.
- Work with high voltage systems safely while adhering to all safety protocols and industry standards.
- Document service activities accurately and report technical findings to engineering teams for continuous improvement.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and industrial electrician experience.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Calypso software, and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Experience with calibration techniques, sensors, vision inspection systems, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems; experience with high-voltage safety procedures required.
- Mechanical knowledge related to turbines or similar machinery; CNC experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices within manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with field service operations in industrial or military settings preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Competence in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and calibration equipment effectively.
