Housekeeping Houseperson
Position Overview
The houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and presentation of assigned guest rooms and corridors in accordance with the hotel's brand standards and quality expectations. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experience by ensuring that all spaces are consistently clean, well-stocked, and properly maintained. The Houseperson works as part of the housekeeping team under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager and is expected to perform duties efficiently, professionally, and with attention to detail.

Principal Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms daily, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing bathrooms in compliance with brand and property standards.
- Replenish room amenities, linens, towels, and supplies according to established par levels and guest preferences.
- Inspect rooms prior to release to ensure all quality standards are met before guest check-in or re-occupancy.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns in guest rooms and public areas to the appropriate department promptly.
- Handle guest requests related to housekeeping services in a courteous and timely manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the housekeeping cart, linen closets, and storage areas.
- Follow all property procedures for lost and found items, reporting findings immediately to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Adherent to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper use of chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with deep cleaning projects, turndown service, and special cleaning assignments as directed.
- Collaborate with the front desk and other departments to prioritize rooms and accommodate guest requests efficiently.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on property.
- Perform all duties in compliance with hotel policies and brand standards
Key Credentials and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One (1) year of previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.
- Knowledge of safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and checklists in English or Spanish.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete assigned rooms within scheduled timeframes.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout an entire shift; must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a professional and respectful manner.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
