Content Creator — Austin (Social, Video, Marketing)
PageOne is building a modern local newsroom, and we’re looking for a fast, creative content creator who can turn daily stories into social content people actually stop, watch, and share.
This role is for someone who understands short-form video, social packaging, captions, hooks, carousel posts, and the pace of local news. Your job is to break down real stories into finished social assets across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, and PageOne.
What You’ll Do
- Turn PageOne articles and local stories into short-form social videos
- Edit raw clips into polished TikToks/Reels/Shorts
- Create carousel posts, graphics, captions, hooks, and headlines
- Package local news in a way that feels clear, useful, and shareable
- Follow PageOne examples while still bringing creative judgment
- Move quickly from assignment to finished asset
- Work with editorial to make sure posts stay accurate
- Help test what formats perform best across Austin and future PageOne markets
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience creating social content, editing video, or producing content for brands, creators, media companies, or local accounts
- Strong short-form video instincts
- Ability to edit quickly using tools like CapCut, Adobe, Canva, Premiere, Photoshop etc
- Experience making TikToks, Reels, Shorts, carousel posts, or social graphics
- Strong taste for pacing, hooks, captions, text overlays, and visual layout
- Comfortable taking direction from examples
- Detail-oriented enough to handle news, names, dates, and facts accurately
- Bonus if you are comfortable on camera, but this is not required

- Content is turned around quickly without sacrificing quality
- Videos feel native to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts
- Carousel posts are clean, useful, and easy to understand
- The PageOne Austin social presence starts to feel recognizable, consistent, and trusted
- We can give you a story and trust you to package it well
Comp
- $65K - $70K DOE + performance bonus
- Full-time
- Hybrid (expected in office min 50% of the time)
