Job Summary
Love children and want to make a difference in their young lives? Come join the dynamic team at Pineapple Cove Academy North Shore. This position provides the perfect hours for someone who would like to be home in the afternoon/evenings. We are looking for a preschool cook Mondays-Fridays from 7:15 a.m.- 4:15 p.m. Great hours and no weekends!
Our perfect candidate will also be willing to occasionally help out in the classrooms. Childcare experience is a plus.
Duties
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks suitable for preschool children, adhering to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Handle all aspects of food preparation, including chopping, mixing, cooking, and plating with precision and care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, following strict food safety and sanitation protocols
- Serve meals in a friendly manner, encouraging positive eating experiences for young children
- Manage food inventory, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Collaborate with staff to ensure meal times are timely, enjoyable, and promote healthy eating habits
Requirements
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food service techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for working with children and creating a positive mealtime atmosphere
