Position Summary
The Field Service Technician provides front-line support to clients by performing installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of medical and dental equipment both remotely and on-site. This role ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering technical solutions aligned with the company's service standards. The technician is expected to work independently in the field, support equipment training, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
This position requires residency in either Texas or Florida and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the assigned territory and surrounding regions. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to help develop product-specific technical expertise and service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for client equipment-related inquiries and service requests.
- Install, configure, inspect, test, and maintain medical and dental equipment at customer locations.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues remotely via phone and email, as well as through on-site service visits.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment upgrades, and system calibrations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, equipment history, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
- Escalate unresolved or critical issues to internal technical support teams with clear documentation.
- Provide basic operator training to customers on proper equipment usage, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Monitor and track service metrics, including response time, resolution time, and customer satisfaction.
- Travel regularly to customer sites throughout assigned territories, with travel expected up to 50% of the time.
- Safely transport, install, and handle equipment and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Utilize hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments to verify equipment performance.
- Participate in company-sponsored technical training, product certification programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a professional company image and deliver exceptional customer service during all customer interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in electronics, biomedical equipment technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Must reside in Texas or Florida.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to learn technical concepts, equipment operation, and repair procedures through company-provided training.
- Previous experience in field service, equipment maintenance, electronics repair, automotive repair, HVAC, military technical roles, or related technical fields is preferred but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing customer needs.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods while servicing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull service equipment and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing medical, dental, imaging, laboratory, or other technical equipment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or networked systems.
- Prior customer-facing field service experience.
- Military technical training or vocational/technical school education.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
