Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Home Health Intake Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, coordinating the intake process for home health services. Duties
- Manage incoming patient inquiries via phone, email, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Noteefied , ensuring prompt and professional responses.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, through insurance verification processes.
- Collect and review medical documentation, including care plans, medical records, and referral information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using medical office management software like Noteefied , coordinating with clinical teams for optimal care delivery.
- Maintain comprehensive records of intake activities, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Assist with billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems, and medical billing procedures to support accurate claims submission.
- Provide exceptional patient service by demonstrating excellent phone etiquette, clerical support skills, and a caring attitude during intake interactions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical administrative support or clinic environment with familiarity in medical office management.
- Experience working with EMR system such as Noteefied,
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and multi-line phone systems.
- Ability to review complex documentation accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Prior experience in home health or hospital settings is advantageous but not required; clinic or dental office experience is also valuable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
