Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Reach Truck Operator to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized heavy equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, and clamp trucks, to efficiently handle materials, pick orders, and manage shipping and receiving processes. Your expertise in warehouse distribution and materials handling will ensure smooth operations, accurate order fulfillment, and safe movement of goods throughout the facility. Responsibilities
- Safely operate reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, move, and stack materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and <PERSON> picker systems to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and inventory accuracy.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to maintain safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock locations, managing inventory levels, and participating in cycle counts.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage space and improve workflow processes for maximum productivity.
- Adhere to all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling; participate in safety training sessions regularly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, crane equipment, or similar heavy machinery within a warehouse or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking procedures.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues; basic construction or materials handling experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy loads consistently and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse supervision is advantageous.
