Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with a focus on both industrial and commercial cleaning standards.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Conduct thorough industrial cleaning of equipment and machinery as needed.
- Carry out floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to enhance the appearance of surfaces.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks to ensure all areas are well-kept.
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests promptly and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report needs for replenishment.
- Follow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Experience
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of floor care procedures, including buffing and maintenance, is advantageous.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or porter services will be considered an asset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning duties, including lifting and moving equipment.
