Position Summary
The Corporate Director of Finance provides strategic financial leadership and oversight for PAH Management's portfolio of managed hotel properties. This role is responsible for directing the company's centralized accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational leaders through timely financial analysis and guidance.
Working closely with hotel General Managers, property accounting teams, executive leadership, and ownership groups, the Corporate Director of Finance ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and management agreements while driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and informed business decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Oversee accounting for a portfolio of managed hotels; coordinate closely with hotel accounting team and General Managers to ensure revenues and expenses are recorded and allocated accurately.

Prepare financial statements and review for significant discrepancies to either correct or explain.

Verify the accuracy of period-end data and provide explanations for variances to budget and prior year.

Prepare and present financial statements to management, including Hotel General Managers, Regional Operations leadership, and other stakeholders.

Research and investigate financial inquiries presented by hotel properties, Regional Operations Managers, and ownership groups.

Provide financial documentation and support for internal and external audits.
General Ledger & Responsibilities

Calculate and post monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals.

Review the hotel general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for corrections.

Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.

Perform monthly cash, credit card, and inter-company account reconciliations.

Complete monthly bank reconciliations by the assigned due date.

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations by the assigned due date.
Corporate Accounting & Financial Administration

Ensure hotels are reviewed and closed on or before the assigned due date.

Resolve reconciling items through research and initiate adjustments as needed by Payroll, Accounts Payable, or the General Ledger.

Process all corporate Accounts Payable invoices.

Process bi-weekly payroll.
Business Operations & Compliance

Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with General Managers, property accountants/controllers, associates, and other departments.

Audit financial documentation to ensure compliance with company document management and record retention policies.

Ensure accounting practices comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies, management agreements, and owner reporting requirements.

Update professional knowledge through continuing education, professional publications, networking, and participation in industry organizations.

Some responsibilities may vary based on management agreements, ownership requirements, and month-end reporting obligations.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Required:
-
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience, preferably within the hospitality, hotel management, or real estate industry.

Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, and budgeting.

Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Hospitality or hotel management accounting experience strongly preferred.

Experience overseeing accounting functions for multiple hotel properties.

Experience working with hotel accounting software and property management systems.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is based at PAH Management's Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas.

Standard business hours are expected; additional hours may be required during month-end, quarter-end, year-end close, audits, budgeting, or other critical business periods.

Occasional travel to hotel properties may be required.

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while reviewing financial reports, analyzing data, participating in meetings, and using computers and other office equipment.

Frequently operate computers, calculators, telephones, and other standard office equipment.

Occasionally move or transport files, office supplies, or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment with moderate noise levels.
