Gentle Touches Atlanta is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled in-home nursing services for medically fragile pediatric patients from infancy through age 21. Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients requiring specialized medical support in a home setting. Responsibilities include monitoring patient health, administering treatments, assisting with specialized feeding needs, and collaborating with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and maintain individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes.
- Assess, monitor, and accurately document patient conditions and progress.
- Assist with specialized feeding methods, including G-tube and enteral feeding when required.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
- Support patients with ongoing medical and daily healthcare needs.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans.
- Educate and guide parents and caregivers regarding patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and healthcare team members.
- Promote a safe, comfortable, and supportive home care environment.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience preferred.
- Previous pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience caring for medically fragile children (ages 21 and under).
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently within a home healthcare environment.
- Must successfully pass a background check before employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with G-tube care, feeding pumps, and enteral nutrition.
- Knowledge of pediatric growth and developmental milestones.
- Experience providing care to children with complex medical conditions.
