Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, Bilingual (English/Spanish) and detail-oriented Field Agronomist to join our team! In this vital role, you will lead research initiatives, optimize crop production, and support sustainable farming practices through innovative data collection and analysis. Your expertise will help shape the future of berry cultivation by applying scientific research, experimental design, and cutting-edge technology to improve crop yields and quality.
Duties
- Conduct field research trials to evaluate new varieties, fertilizers, pest management strategies, and cultivation techniques.
- Collect comprehensive data on soil health, plant growth, pest populations, and environmental conditions using advanced tools such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
- Apply molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and genetics knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to plant health and disease resistance.
- Maintain detailed records of all research activities, data collection efforts, and laboratory procedures.
- Studying plants and soil in order to develop better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improve crop yield, and solve problems facing the agriculture industry.
- Researching, developing, and promoting farming practices or products that diminish the effects of changes in soil, climate, and weather or prevent damage from pests.
- Visiting fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples and testing samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
- Assisting with the plant selection process and the development of planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture Science, Horticulture, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related fields.
- Proven experience in scientific research within farming or agricultural settings.
- Familiarity with experimental design principles and analysis skills for interpreting complex datasets.
- Knowledge of farming practices including crop management, greenhouse operations, and sustainable agriculture methods.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting research findings and collaborating across teams. Salary: DOE
Pay: $68,640.00 - $75,000.00 per year
