ANDRITZ Metals USA
ANDRITZ Metals USA designs and builds equipment for the processing of carbon steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metal including pickling lines, coating lines, levelers, cut to length lines, slitting lines as well as continuous or batch furnaces for reheating slabs, blooms, billets, and structural shapes. We specialize in supplying knives for metal processing equipment including shear blades, slitting knives, and slitting spacers. We also provide mill and coil processing equipment rebuild and retrofit. Additionally, we provide service parts, roll and knife regrind services for rolling mills and strip processors and provide a wide range of mechanical and electrical components for ANDRITZ equipment, as well as for many other brands in the industry.
The Role
Under the direction of the Plant Manager , the Roll Grinder Operator is responsible for performing receiving inspection, resurfacing, and final inspection of mill rolls.
Requirements
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items
- Setup and grind rolls blemish free to customer specifications.
- Inspect rolls before and after processing.
- Change grinding wheels.
- Check and adjust coolant.
- Operate various types of inspection equipment.
- Measure rolls for receiving inspection parameters, including a before Pro-mic report.
- Document all production and inspection activities on required forms.
- Maintain housekeeping of area and equipment.
- Perform ultrasound, surface finish, hardness, runout, and all other testing required and record results.
- Complete grinding report form.
- Prepare rolls for shipment per procedure.
Knowledge
- Hazardous Communication training, Forklift training, and Crane Safety training preferred.

Education and Experience
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
As required to individually perform Key Result items. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour
