O’Grady Development Company is seeking a dependable, motivated General Laborer to join our residential construction and development team. This hands-on position supports the construction and upkeep of high-quality homes and residential communities throughout the Traverse City area. The General Laborer will work alongside project managers, skilled tradespeople, and other team members to keep jobsites safe, clean, organized, and moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and wants to develop practical construction skills. Previous experience is preferred.
Duties
- Perform daily cleanup of construction sites, including sweeping, vacuuming, and removing debris, dust, and waste materials
- Prepare, organize, and clean residential construction sites
- Load, unload, move, and organize building materials and supplies
- Support your project manager and subcontractors - carpenters, concrete crews, project, and other skilled trades as directed
- Complete other residential construction and property-maintenance tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience preferred
- Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Residential construction or equipment experience is preferred
- Familiarity with hand and power tools required
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time position
- 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- $21 to $30 per hour, based on experience and capabilities
