Amity San Diego is seeking motivated and compassionate Full-Time and Part-Time Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our outpatient substance use disorder treatment team. Our outpatient programs provide structured clinical services including PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program), IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), and Outpatient treatment. The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting the clinical team, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, monitoring client participation, and assisting with daily program operations.

Essential Job Duties
- Monitor client attendance and participation throughout the treatment day.
- Complete scheduled client check-ins and document attendance, tardiness, and early departures accurately in the EMR.
- Perform supervised urine drug screens and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Observe and monitor group sessions, ensuring clients remain engaged and addressing behavioral concerns as appropriate.
- Provide crisis intervention and utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic treatment environment.
- Escort clients as needed within the facility and assist with community outings when assigned.
- Assist clients with program orientation and daily scheduling.
- Document client observations, incidents, and interactions accurately and objectively.
- Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and medical providers regarding client needs.
- Monitor facility common areas and report safety or maintenance concerns.
- Assist with inventory and accountability of client belongings when applicable.
- Support discharge and admission processes as directed.
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One (1) year of behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment experience preferred
- Current California Driver's License with acceptable driving record (required if transporting clients)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Registered or Certified Alcohol Drug Technician (RADT/CADT) certification, if required by California regulations
- Ability to pass background screening and drug screening in accordance with company policy
