Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Select appropriate paints, stains, primers, and finishes based on project requirements and color theory principles
- Apply paints and coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools for efficient coverage
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute painting plans on residential and commercial sites
- Perform specialized tasks including plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry finishing, and fixture installation for comprehensive renovation projects
- Conduct surface preparation for restoration or remodeling projects involving framing carpentry, drywall repair, or concrete finishing
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites by using proper protective equipment and adhering to protocols during welding or industrial painting tasks
- MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION AND HAND TOOLS
Experience
- Proven experience in residential painting with knowledge of color theory and surface preparation techniques
- Familiarity with construction site procedures including renovation, restoration, or remodeling environments
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and industrial equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of diverse painting techniques such as airless spray application and specialty coatings like stucco or industrial finishes
- Background in related trades such as carpentry (trim or frame), masonry, plastering, or handyman work is highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimates while managing multiple projects efficiently
