Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and alignments.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Repair or replace components such as belts, hoses, sensors, wiring harnesses, powertrain parts, and diesel engines as needed.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete repairs with precision while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct wheel alignments and ADAS calibrations to ensure vehicle safety features function correctly.
- Maintain detailed service records, prepare estimates for repairs using auto estimating software, and communicate findings clearly with customers.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service center experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle makes and models; familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus.
- Experience diagnosing automotive electrical systems and working with schematics.
- Skilled in automotive repair techniques including engine repair, transmission work, diesel engine repair, welding, and general maintenance.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and understanding of powertrain components.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
