Job Title: Field Crew Member Employment Status: Part-time and full-time needed
Reports to: Field Crew Supervisor, FLSA Status: Non-exempt Field Manager
Purpose/General Responsibilities: Spring Ledge Farm grows approximately 27 acres of mixed vegetables, strawberries, and sweet corn which we sell through our Farmstand as well as our CSA program. All members of the Spring Ledge Farm team love to be outdoors, have great attitudes, work well with others, can work independently, are reliable, communicate well and persevere in the face of challenges like weather, mud, and sun. Field Crew Members will be involved in harvesting, washing, planting, and weeding crops of all shapes and sizes. This position is additionally the jack of all trades on our farm and will be enlisted to complete other field tasks like laying landscape fabric, pounding posts, simple repairs, pruning tomatoes and much, much more.

Specific (Essential) Responsibilities:
Now hiring for summer positions picking vegetables and strawberries.
1. Basic Field Work - All employees share in the primary farm tasks listed below. You will spend the majority of your time together with other employees doing this work:
a. Harvest, wash, and pack produce
b. Weed crops
c. Transplant vegetables
d. Other crop maintenance and horticultural tasks as needed
2. Other Potential Duties
a. Pruning and trellising tomato plants in our tomato greenhouses
b. Assisting with irrigation
c. General tool and facility maintenance such as cleaning and sanitizing
3. Dates and Times of Work
a. These positions are full time. Full time is a minimum of 5 days per week
b. Positions will start in August and continue through September and October.
c. Work hours are 7:00am-3:30pm for full day employees with a 30 min unpaid lunch. Beginning Sept. 1st, hours change to 8am-4:30pm. Employees are expected to be here and ready to start work promptly at 7:00am. This means arriving several minutes early to get settled in before clocking in.
d. Occasional days off are accepted with prior approval by the field manager but be advised that you are generally obligated to work the days on which you are scheduled for.

Qualifications:
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision

· Basic math skills including arithmetic; ability to perform and interpret basic calculations related to count, weight, time, rate, and distance
· Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner
· Highly effective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings
· Strong work ethic with history of good attendance
· Ability to shift gears at a moment’s notice
· Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
· Must be able to perform physical work in a variety of positions and at various heights including bending, squatting, reaching, twisting etc.
· Tolerate working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
· Must enjoy hard work and be willing to get dirty
· Willing and able to learn quickly
· Ability to listen and follow instructions.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
