Position Overview: As a Group Leader, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and enriching environment for the children in our program. You will lead activities, mentor students, and contribute to the overall success of our after school initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Program Facilitation:
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging after school activities for a designated group of students.
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with program goals and values.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and positive behavior.
- Provide assistance with homework.
Supervision and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, promoting personal and social-emotional development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during program hours.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other program staff to coordinate and integrate activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and community partners to provide updates on student progress and program activities.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate attendance records and other required documentation.
- Assist in program evaluation and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in education, social work, or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to the organization's mission.
- Must be able to pass an EEC CORI.
Schedule: This is a part time position. Program hours are Monday-Friday 2:30pm-6:00pm.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
