Virginia Bison Co. at Cibola Farms
Position
Cibola Farms is a multifaceted agricultural operation blending bison production, direct-to-consumer marketing, and agritourism. We are seeking Retail & Hospitality Support to assist our Market Manager in delivering a premium experience to our guests and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Retail & Market Operations
- Provide hands-on support for the Bison Store, including sales, inventory management, and restocking.
- Ensure a high-standard customer experience during peak hours
Packaging Room Management
- Assist with light-duty projects including jerky packaging and product labeling.
- Oversee packaging room maintenance, managing rotational cleaning schedules alongside other crew members.
Hospitality & "Cibola Cabins" Support
- Help manage our growing retreat business (currently 5 cabins, expanding to 12).
- Stage cabins for guests, ensuring they are fully stocked, pristine, and welcoming.
- Provide professional hospitality support to ensure a memorable stay for all guests.
Marketing & Food Truck Support
- Assist the Market Manager with local marketing initiatives, social media, and wholesale outreach.
- Support the Food Truck operations (taking orders from the store and managing supplies).
Requirements & Skills
- Driving: Must have a safe driving record and a valid DC, MD, or VA driver’s license (or willingness to obtain one for insurance purposes). Ability to occasionally drive a refrigerated box truck.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with keyboarding and order management software/digital procedure tools.
- Professionalism: A mature, proactive approach with excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail.
- Versatility: Ability to pivot between physical tasks (restocking/cleaning) and customer-facing roles (sales/hospitality).
Compensation & Details
- Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
- Schedule: Training window for the first month is Tues-Sat. After training, the regular schedule is Sun-Thurs 8:30-5:30.
- Environment: Work on a beautiful, active farm specializing in bison production and agritourism.
