Provide direct patient care, assessments, and medication administration

Respond to medical needs, emergencies, and sick call requests

Monitor patients with chronic or high-risk conditions

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Communicate effectively with oncoming day shift and leadership

Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and clinical standards

Support a safe and secure environment in collaboration with correctional staff
This is a highly independent role, especially during overnight hours. You’ll be supported by leadership, but trusted to think critically, act confidently, and manage patient needs effectively during your shift.

Active LPN or RN license in North Carolina

Current CPR certification

Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Clear and effective communication skills

Previous correctional, long-term care, or emergency nursing experience

Experience working night shift or in independent roles

Must pass background check, drug screening, and facility clearance

Must maintain eligibility to work in a correctional environment

Ability to meet physical and cognitive demands of the role, including emergency response
