Job Overview
Colorado Mountain Towing is hiring dependable, safety-focused, and professional Light-Duty Tow Truck Drivers to join our growing team.
We are looking for experienced tow truck drivers as well as motivated candidates who are willing to learn. Training may be provided to the right candidate.
This is a mobile field position. Drivers are dispatched remotely and travel directly to customers, roadside incidents, accident scenes, dealerships, repair facilities, and other service locations.
Drivers do not report to an office every day.
A company tow truck is provided. Having a safe and suitable place to park the company tow truck near your home is strongly preferred.
Service Areas / Driver Locations Needed
We are currently looking for drivers who live in or near:
Summit County: Silverthorne, Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge
Eagle County: Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle
Clear Creek County: Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Dumont
Our company primarily services the I-70 Mountain Corridor from Idaho Springs through Summit County and into the Vail Valley.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company tow trucks and equipment.
- Respond promptly to assigned towing and roadside assistance calls.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, law enforcement, motor clubs, and company management.
- Maintain accurate job statuses and documentation using the company's dispatch system.
- Inspect customer vehicles before loading, towing, or providing roadside service.
- Take required before-and-after photographs.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles.
- Follow company towing, securement, safety, and damage-prevention procedures.
- Provide accurate estimated arrival times and communicate delays.
- Collect customer payments when required.
- Upload receipts and required documentation.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Keep the assigned company truck, equipment, and cab clean and organized.
- Immediately report accidents, vehicle damage, equipment problems, safety concerns, and unusual incidents.
- Maintain professional behavior and appearance while representing Colorado Mountain Towing.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card when required.
- Must be dependable and able to work independently.
- Must be comfortable driving in mountain conditions, snow, ice, and severe weather.
- Must be able to safely perform the physical duties required for towing and roadside assistance.
- Must be able to communicate with customers and company management.
- Must have a reliable smartphone.
- Must be willing to use company dispatch, GPS, communication, and job-documentation systems.
- Towing experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
Schedule & Availability
Full-Time and Part-Time positions are available.
Tow truck drivers must understand that towing and roadside assistance is a service-based business. Work volume may vary depending on weather, traffic, accidents, customer demand, and seasonal conditions.
Drivers may be required to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and during severe weather conditions depending on their agreed schedule and company operational needs.
Reliable attendance and communication are essential.
Compensation
- 30% commission on qualifying customer calls.
- Expected annual earnings of approximately $65,000–$110,000 depending on availability, call volume, schedule, and performance.
- Company tow truck provided.
- Company towing equipment provided.
- Training may be provided to qualified candidates.
