About The Set Northridge
The Set Northridge is building a premium cannabis retail experience rooted in strong customer service, real product knowledge, professionalism, urgency, and high standards.
We are not looking for someone who simply checks people out. We are looking for a strong Lead Budtender who can help elevate the floor, support the team, protect the customer experience, and lead by example every shift.
This role is for someone who takes pride in their work, brings maturity and accountability, and knows how to help create a clean, organized, high-performing dispensary environment.
Position Overview
The Lead Budtender is a key member of the store team and a leader on the sales floor. This person helps set the tone for service, supports daily operations, reinforces standards, helps coach other budtenders, and works closely with management to keep the store running smoothly.
This is not just a cashier role. This is for someone who can help lead the shift, stay calm under pressure, communicate well, solve problems, and consistently perform at a high level.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a premium, welcoming, knowledgeable customer experience on every shift
- Lead by example in professionalism, urgency, salesmanship, attitude, and service
- Support the sales floor during busy periods and help keep service efficient and organized
- Educate customers on cannabis products including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, and accessories
- Make thoughtful product recommendations based on guest needs, preferences, and desired experience
- Help drive sales through strong product knowledge, listening skills, and basket-building
- Support daily store operations including opening, closing, restocking, merchandising, and floor flow
- Help maintain a clean, organized, visually strong, and fully stocked store
- Assist with inventory organization, restocking, product rotation, intake, and counts
- Follow and reinforce all ID verification, compliance, cash-handling, and transaction procedures
- Help train, guide, and support newer budtenders
- Communicate clearly with management regarding customer issues, product needs, team performance, and operational concerns
- Help resolve customer issues professionally, calmly, and efficiently
- Support store goals and help improve service, efficiency, and shift execution
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have 1–3 years of cannabis dispensary experience
- Strong cannabis product knowledge across major product categories
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while staying professional and composed
- Comfortable handling cash, POS systems, and customer transactions accurately
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and remain active throughout the shift
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to comply with all California cannabis retail employment requirements and company policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Lead Budtender, keyholder, trainer, or shift lead experience
- Experience in a high-volume dispensary
- Strong sales ability and confidence on the floor
- Experience helping train or mentor team members
- Strong understanding of compliance, transaction accuracy, and daily retail discipline
