Looking for someone who's spent a career doing real work and wants a second act that still matters, not a \"job,\" a place where what you know actually gets used. We are a community hardware store that serves a lot of trade professional and local farmers.
If you know hardware and tools and you can help a customer with a part if they don't know what it's called this job might be for you.
What you'll actually do
- Help customers figure out what they need not just ring them up
- Run the front counter during busy stretches, calling in backup when things pick up
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately (we'll train you on the system — it's simple, and someone will walk you through it.
- Follow store policy on pricing, discounts, and returns
- In free time help with stocking shelves and keeping the store cleaned and organized.
What we expect from you.
- You show up when you say you will
- You're steady under pressure
- You treat this like it matters, because it does
Why this might be a good fit
- A store that runs on honesty and doing the job right, same values you probably built your career on
- Your knowledge gets respected and used, not wasted behind a counter doing nothing but scanning barcodes
