Strength and Conditioning Coach
The Strength and Conditioning Coach must assume a major role in the design and implementation of strength training, conditioning, and flexibility programs in consultation with the head coach of each sport, fostering cooperation and positive teamwork, exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship, and most importantly, assume a major role in the development of our youth as future leaders. This job requires you to interact thoughtfully and respectfully with student-athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents, and the community. Positive communication strategies, organizational skills, and safety awareness are key requirements.
The Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director. This position requires the coach to complete an employment application, background check, and all district, MIAA, and NFHS-required training on an annual basis.
Responsibilities –

Accountable for the entire strength and conditioning program, and will oversee all aspects of the program, including, but not limited to, the safety and inventory of athletic equipment.

Communicate with the Athletic Director concerning any incidents that come up in regards to student-athletes, coaches, or parental concerns.

Supervise the development and implementation of strength, conditioning, and flexibility programs that meet the specific needs of each student-athlete and sport by designing both team and individual student-athlete programs

Work with an athletic trainer to ensure that the strength, conditioning, and flexibility programs are fully aligned with rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes

Provide instruction and daily supervision of the technical aspects of lifting/training during scheduled workouts

Supervise all strength and conditioning facility operations, including daily inspection of equipment and necessary maintenance to ensure safe operations

Perform all other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Athletic coaching positions are a one-year appointment. All positions will be posted every year.

As negotiated by the Fitchburg School Committee and the Fitchburg Education Association (FEA).
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI prior to your start of employment.
