Cook duties and responsibilities
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Assist with the cooking and presentation of dishes according to recipes or chef's instructions
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely meal preparation
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Experience:
- Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook is preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
