Airmatic Compressor Systems is an industry leader in compressed air systems, industrial equipment, and engineered containerized solutions. We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our growing Berlin, CT team and help build custom industrial compressor packages and containerized mechanical systems for customers throughout the United States.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld structural steel components for custom containerized industrial systems
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches
- Lay out, fit, weld, and assemble steel components with high attention to detail
- Modify shipping containers for industrial equipment installations
- Install brackets, supports, framing, doors, ventilation systems, and structural reinforcements
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, ironworkers, and other shop machinery
- Perform MIG welding on carbon steel (TIG experience is a plus)
- Ensure work meets company quality and safety standards
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and mechanical assembly teams
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of professional welding and fabrication experience
- Strong MIG welding skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Experience fitting and fabricating structural steel
- Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing/shop environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Experience modifying shipping containers
- Experience with industrial equipment fabrication
- TIG welding experience
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
- OSHA safety training

Location Requirement
Applicants must reside within approximately 30 miles of our Berlin, CT facility. This position is not remote and requires daily reporting to our fabrication shop.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
