Job Summary
T.E. Schlitt Engineering, LLC is looking for a motivated individual that is interested in a challenging and rewarding career. The ideal candidate will have experience in Drafting as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. They must be detail oriented and methodical with a positive attitude. Duties include drafting, basic mathematics, preliminary engineering analysis, office organization, following checklists, and communicating with clients. They must be willing to learn new software, terminology, and basic engineering theory. Must enjoy new challenges and continuous learning. Experience in construction management will be beneficial, but not necessary. We are hiring for full time.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interpret Architectural Drawings to draft structural plans, sections, and details. Create truss plans and specify connectors.
- We work on custom residential, commercial and industrial projects.
- Our projects are primarily masonry, concrete and wood but we also deal with steel, aluminum, and pre-engineered components.
- Preliminary Wind Design with Engineers Oversight and Guidance.
- Evaluate Product Approvals for Compliance with Project Specifications.
- Code Research.
- Assist with office organization.
- Assist with report writing.
- Communicating with clients (architects, contractors, homeowners)
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or Revit Drafting Certificate
- Experience in drafting structures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Familiar with Windows Operating System
- Willingness to learn new software and basic engineering theory
- Ability to review your own work with checklists at each phase of development
- Experience in Autodesk Revit is a plus, if you do not know it, we will train you!
