POSITION: Homebound Substitute Teacher Pool (HSTP)
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services
Minimum Experience/Skill Requirements/Qualifications:
Licensed Secondary School Teacher, Certified in the area of English, Math, History, Science Foreign
Language, or LBS1 (Valid Illinois Teacher Certification, Type 9 or type 10).
Overall Job Duties:
The primary responsibility of the HST is to provide homebound instruction, facilitate the collection,
distribution, and submission of assignments for students’ who are medically excused from school.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide homebound tutoring to students in various content areas.
Collect student assignments from each of the student’s teachers and submit student completed
assignments to each teacher.
Assist students in academic instruction and tutoring in multiple content areas.
Communicate effectively with ETHS staff, parents, and students.
The ability to work flexible hours in the evening, including weekends.
Travel within the ETHS district to work with students at their home when an adult (18 years or
older) are present, the local public library and/or any public setting within the community.
Exhibit confidentiality at all times.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The Homebound Substitute Teacher Pool (HSTP) position is assigned on
an as needed basis and is paid the curriculum rate as outlined in the
Teachers Council Contract.
