Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer specializing in Chemical Delivery Systems (CDS) for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex mechanical systems that deliver high-purity chemicals essential for semiconductor manufacturing processes. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical designs and schematics for chemical delivery systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, adhering to industry standards including ASME codes.
- Perform mechanical drafting and 3D modeling to create accurate representations of product components and assemblies, supporting manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure mechanical integrity and performance under operational conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including process engineers, manufacturing, and project management—to define system requirements and specifications.
- Utilize engineering tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Arduino, and CNC programming to simulate system behavior, control logic, and automation processes.
- Lead root cause analysis for system failures or performance issues, implementing corrective actions to enhance reliability.
- Manage project schedules effectively by planning design phases, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely delivery of engineering products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role within the semiconductor or similar high-tech industries.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in machine design, mechanical detail drawings, schematics, and mechanical product development projects.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo for 3D CAD modeling and drafting; experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), tolerance analysis, FEA simulations, and mechanical standards including ASME codes & standards.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink for system control and automation integration.
- Experience with manufacturing processes including CNC machining and mechanical product development projects.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines and manufacturing teams.
