Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cabling, low voltage systems, and relevant technical knowledge to ensure optimal performance of communication networks.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment including cabling and alarm systems.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of existing systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Utilize remote access software to assist in diagnosing problems and providing solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and recommend appropriate telecommunications solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics to ensure proper installation and maintenance of equipment.
- Provide technical support as a service technician for both hardware and software related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service requests.
Skills
- Proficiency in cabling techniques and installation practices.
- Experience with alarm system sales and installation is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to telecommunications equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and low voltage applications.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams effectively.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and their integration within telecommunications systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
